QC / Sales Engineer – Material Science background

Our client is one of the largest providers of scientific instruments and consumables to the scientific and medical markets.

Due to continued growth of the industrial specialist business area, they are keen to attain the services of a QC/ Sales Engineer with a Material Science background.

As a site engineer you will take responsibility of running the QC projects.

To succeed in this dynamic environment you will have:

  • (graduate also)3-8+years in a similar Mechanical, Civil, Chemical/ QC Sales Engineering role in the science field preferably Material Science.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering as well as a Science qualification (preferably Material Science).
  • Background experience in material science, surface coating applications, polymer testing, physical testing and sample preparation.
  • Experience with vacuum pumps, roots pumps, valves and accessories, turbomolecular pumps, diaphragm pumps, oil diffusion pumps and laboratory vacuum systems.
  • Exposure to colour and light measurement, air movement technology and thermal stress imaging & non destructive testing.
  • Experience with waste water and potable water analysis, monitoring and treatment.
  • Sludge handling testing and treatment experience.


Must have a background in sales and the ability to develop business.

Newton International Fellowships

The Newton International Fellowship scheme aims to build a global pool of research leaders and encourage long-term international collaboration with the UK.

It is run by the British Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society and so the Fellowships cover a broad range of natural and social sciences, engineering and the humanities.

The Scheme has been established to select the very best early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world and enable them to work at UK research institutions for a period of two years.

They provide grants of £24,000 per annum to cover subsistence and £8,000 to cover research expenses, plus a one-off relocation allowance of £2,000.

As part of the scheme, all Newton Fellows who remain in research will be granted a 10 year follow-up funding package worth £6,000 perannum.
