The Institute of Materials Engineering Australia trading as Materials Australia and the Australian Fracture Group (AFG) invite you to attend an International Conference on Structural Integrity and Failure, SIF2006, to be held in Sydney from September 27 to 29, 2006.

SIF2006 continues the series of biennial conferences organised by the AFG, starting in 1974 and including SIF 2002 in Perth and the International Congress on Fracture ICF9 in Sydney in 1997. This year it is combined with the International Conference on Failure Analysis and Maintenance Technologies (ICFAMT) which has run in 2002 and 2004 and was created by Materials Australia to respond to a growing industry demand to consider failure analysis and the technologies used to avoid failures.

Papers from the conference will be considered for republication in two international journals:

• Engineering Failure Analysis (Elsevier, UK).
• Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials
• Structures (Blackwell UK).

A Technological Conference

The conference will emphasise the technologies, science and engineering of structural integrity and failure analysis.
